Description: Yellow split peas have a sweet flavour and contain both soluble and insoluble fibre. They are also an excellent source of folic acid and thiamin and also supply some manganese, potassium, and iron. Add to Stews and casseroles.
Cooking instructions: Use 3 measures of cold water to 1 of peas. Place in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Skim off any scum that forms. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for approx 30 mins or until tender. Add salt to taste.
